Drug delivery man: the Uberization of drug delivery is emulated all over Europe

Recent examples in France and Belgium illustrate the way in which drug distribution networks are organised. No major city in Europe is immune to this new mode of delivery.

At the end of last year, in the Vaucluse, seven men were arrested in connection with a vast cocaine trafficking. From their seized cell phones, more than three hundred customers were identified, constituting an encrypted digital type network consisting of bringing cocaine “at the door” consumer cars. The telephone numbers of the deliverers circulated by word of mouth and deliveries were made within fifteen minutes using rental vehicles.

At the rate of 60 euros per gram of cocaine, some transactions involving 10 grams, a delivery man managed to make up to 2,800 sales per month, i.e. a turnover of more than 100,000 euros.

In Paris, at the beginning of September, a 27-year-old young man delivered on his own by scooter between 150 and 200 customers, dressed in the clothing of a major meal delivery company. Independent in his own way, the police found at his home, six kilos of cocaine and the tidy sum in cash of 450,000 euros. He ended up being denounced.
