Shortly following 5 p.m. on the B126 from Bad Leonfelden, the driver overtook a driving school car in Hintermühle despite oncoming traffic and cut the 15-year-old student driver while he was getting back into the lane. This meant the boy had to slow down a lot. A 57-year-old driver from Linz, who was driving behind, was no longer able to react in time and hit the driving school car.
The person who caused the misery – a driver in a black small car – did not stop. The 56-year-old driving instructor was slightly injured in the impact and had to be taken to UKH Linz following receiving first aid from the NEF Zwettl team.
The two damaged vehicles were towed away. The B126 was difficult to pass for a good 1.5 hours while the accident was being recorded and the vehicle was being recovered.
