A number of people were arrested in Tangier for driving recklessly.

According to a security source, the Tangier Security Department responded with great seriousness to a video clip published on social media pages, showing people driving cars in a showy manner on the public road, endangering the safety of citizens and road users.

The investigations and inquiries carried out in this case resulted in identifying the suspects and arresting five of them, in addition to depositing three of the cars that appeared in this video in the municipal impound. The investigations also revealed that these criminal acts were committed on July 14, on the sidelines of their participation in a wedding procession.

The ongoing investigations into this case also revealed that a sixth person, among those who appeared in this video, was also arrested and his car was seized after he was caught red-handed in possession of hallucinogenic pills. He was referred to the competent public prosecution, which decided to prosecute him while in detention.

All suspects, aged between 22 and 27, were placed in police custody pending the judicial investigation being conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, in order to uncover all the circumstances and details of this case, while investigations and inquiries are still ongoing with the aim of arresting the rest of the contributors and participants in committing these criminal acts.
