Traffic jam caused: “Hello you miserable bastard” – farmer receives hate letter about combine harvester

Because a driver couldn’t overtake a combine harvester on a narrow country road, he turned to the farmer anonymously afterwards – and completely misspoke.

That’s what it’s about

Because he couldn’t overtake a combine harvester, a driver’s collar burst.

Afterwards he sent the farm a letter with crude insults.

The company published the letter on Facebook – and reacted coolly to it.

Many motorists are familiar with the situation: you are driving on a narrow country road and an agricultural vehicle is chugging in front of you. There isn’t enough space to overtake, and the big machine can’t swerve either – you’re doomed to wait until the farmer has turned off.

What most people patiently accept so enraged one driver that he (or she) sent a few hateful lines to the Bernese farm in question afterwards. The salutation already sets the tone: “Hello you miserable bastard.”

Insults on the running meter

As a result, the loss of time that was suffered because of the combine harvester was lamented: “There were about ten alternatives to let the seven cars, several bicycles and motorcycles pass by. But no, arrogant and pretentious, you stay the whole way in the middle of the street so that everyone stays behind and sneaks in.”

They are almost the only two sentences in the anonymously written letter that do not contain swear words. “Damn peasant louts” is the most harmless slur. The “Farmer’s Newspaper” was the first to report it.

The contractor published the letter on Facebook on Wednesday. Unlike the author, it responds with a pinch of irony: “Thank you for the gratitude shown to us for harvesting grain for local produce.” In addition, the family business invites the sender to an interview in order to explain the work and the (lack of) alternatives in more detail.

“A poor boy”

Unsurprisingly, the person has not yet contacted the company, as the co-managing director said when asked by 20 minutes. Now and then you get minor complaints, for example about the noise of the combine harvester in the evening: “But I’ve never received such a hate letter in my 15 years at the company.”

“Wherever it is possible for us, we give the other vehicles the right of way,” continues the co-boss. However, there are almost no alternatives on the said route and overtaking a combine harvester with a beam wagon is very dangerous. 95 percent of road users would have no problem with the few minutes delay, she says. Unfortunately, there are always a few frustrated people: “Yesterday the letter annoyed me, today I say to myself: That’s a poor guy.”
