Driver in Rotenburg district suspected of drug use – Weser Kurier

On Monday, police in the Rotenburg district pulled over two drivers who were suspected of being under the influence of drugs. A 46-year-old driver who was stopped by the Rotenburg police on Monday afternoon had consumed cannabis and cocaine. A patrol crew noticed the man’s car on Hindenburgstrasse at around 3:30 p.m. During the conversation, officers noticed signs of drug consumption in the driver, police said on Tuesday. A urine test and the 46-year-old’s statements confirmed the initial impression. The man admitted to long-term drug consumption and had to provide a blood sample, police said.

In the second case, one of the people who caused the accident was also under the influence of drugs. A 21-year-old man was injured in a traffic accident on the B 71 (Wehldorfer Bundesstrasse) early on Monday morning. A 41-year-old driver had tried to turn from a property onto the federal highway at around 6:40 a.m. in his Fiat Ducato. He probably overlooked the 21-year-old’s VW Polo, which had right of way. The man sustained minor injuries in the collision. The police estimate the material damage at just under 10,000 euros. When recording the accident, the police noticed signs of drug consumption in the person who caused the accident. A urine test confirmed this suspicion. The 41-year-old had to give a blood sample.
