In a video relayed numerous times on social networks, several police officers try to arrest a driver in Halluin, in the north of France just a few hundred meters from the Belgian border. We see a driver, aged 70 according to sources, who accelerates at a roundabout and knocks down two police officers, one of whom appears seriously injured.
As Sudinfo reports, the man had already been involved in a chase two days earlier. Local police spotted a suspicious vehicle, but the driver fled at high speed. In Ypres, a spiked mat had been used in vain and shots had even been fired. The septuagenarian finally turned around and was able to flee to France. This time, the police managed to intercept him.
