Arjun went missing after a landslide in Shilur, Karnataka. The search on the eighth day was unsuccessful. But crucially, the sonar signal was also received from the same spot on the Gangavalli River where the radar signal was received. The signal was received today while the Navy was conducting a search in the river. According to rescuers, both signals indicated the presence of a large object. The Navy said the location of the signal will be the focus of tomorrow’s search. Meanwhile, the search was halted today after nothing was found in the river.
The military said the signals showed two possibilities. A metal tower fell into the river. Or it could be Arjun’s truck. It is hoped that this question will be answered tomorrow with an intensive inspection of the area using a device called IBOD. “Ibod” is a device that detects signals from objects buried under the soil by observing from the sky. The equipment will be used in a search tomorrow, said Rt. Major General M Indrabalan confirmed.
Meanwhile, Karwar SP Narayana denied reports that a tanker truck fell into the Gangavalli river due to a landslide and exploded. He said that fake news should not be spread and that no such explosion occurred. The tanker that drifted into the river after the incident did not explode. The SP also confirmed that there were no burn marks on the body found. Previously, many witnesses said they heard an explosion-like sound after the landslide.
