Juárez Residents Benefit from Drive Thru Flu and COVID-19 Vaccination Campaign
Juárez residents have gained greater access to flu and COVID-19 vaccinations thanks to a newly launched drive-thru vaccination effort. Governor Samuel García personally oversaw the initiative, reiterating the administration’s commitment to public health.
“Today we are promoting vaccination. We want to reach one million vaccines very soon, and for Nuevo León to be very healthy because it is the greatest fundamental value of human beings, that their parents, their children, their brothers-in-law, their in-laws, everyone, stay healthy so you have a very merry Christmas,” the governor stated.
To date, health officials have administered 879,017 doses of influenza vaccine and 198,943 against COVID-19.
The governor stressed the sessions are part of his larger commitment to keeping residents healthy, especially this winter season when respiratory illnesses are more common.
Secretary of Health Alma Rosa Marroquín enforced the importance of preventative care during the winter months, higher risks of respiratory diseases are a major concern.
Juárez Mayor Félix Arratia expressed gratitude for the driveitrhu module initiative and commended the state government for its dedication to improving health outcomes in his municipality.
"As a representative of the municipality, being here with the start of this vaccination campaign for various diseases, especially in this winter season, and which makes it easier for us and leads us step by step to work on what is essential, as a municipal administration," commented the councilor.
The governor also announced further plans to bolster the region’s healthcare infrastructure. New hospital projects are underway in various municipalities including Santa Catarina, Garcia, Salinas Victoria and Juárez. This reinforces his administration’s dedication to supporting the health and wellbeing of all citizens.
The drive-thru campaign promotes easy and accessible vaccine access for residents, contributing to the overall success of the wider vaccination program across Nuevo León.
