ABU DHABI, 11th August, 2020 (WAM) — The Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company, Tadweer, in cooperation with the Abu Dhabi Police, launched the “Drive Safely for Your Safety” campaign, which will continue throughout the month of August, in the company’s various facilities in Abu Dhabi, Al Ain and Al Dhafra Region, as part of its commitment to building a greener future. For the safety of its employees, which reflects on the safety and health of the community.
The campaign aims to raise awareness among the company’s employees, including truck drivers and contractors, about the importance of taking caution while driving and adhering to traffic laws, as well as following proper driving behaviors to reduce traffic accidents. Awareness of “Tadweer” employees about the safety procedures that must be followed while driving vehicles.
Abu Dhabi Police will also organize a series of training courses and workshops. To provide the company’s employees with the necessary skills and knowledge to improve driving habits and make them safer, while “Tadweer” will distribute educational brochures and daily advice on driving in various regions of the emirate; To provide drivers of trucks, heavy vehicles and drivers of small cars with safety guidelines and to enhance their awareness of the importance of driving safely.
Hussain Al Hammadi, Director of Health, Safety and Environment Department at Abu Dhabi Waste Management Company “Tadweer” said: “The launch of this campaign comes within the framework of our commitment to promoting a culture of health and safety among all company employees and contributing to making a positive change towards enhancing road safety, by providing a transport environment safe and sustainable in the emirate and raising awareness of the importance of following sound driving behaviors.
For his part, Colonel Ahmed Khadim Al Qubaisi, Director of the Capital Traffic Department, stressed the importance of the campaign in consolidating the traffic culture among members of society to enhance the responsibility to adhere to traffic and traffic laws and regulations, as part of the directions of the Abu Dhabi Police and its constant endeavor to maintain the safety and security of all.
He stated that the Traffic and Patrols Directorate of Abu Dhabi Police organized, within the framework of the activities of the “Your Vehicle Safety is Your Safety” campaign, an awareness lecture about mechanical failures in the summer, damage to vehicle tires, forms of defects in them such as bulges, lack or excess of air, and how to choose the appropriate tire, in addition to a group of technical matters related to vehicles. Like checking the oil and checking the electrical wiring.
