Drew McIntyre might miss WWE Night of Champions and the chance to win the new WWE World Heavyweight title.
A new report notes that McIntyre is expected to be out of action for a few more weeks. While unconfirmed, it’s possible he’ll miss WWE Night of Champions, and means he’ll miss the RAW-branded tournament to crown the new WWE World Heavyweight Champion.
McIntyre was drafted to RAW last week in the WWE Draft. With RAW in need of a main event villain, it was speculated that they might turn heel like the good old days.
It was also noted that nothing has changed with McIntyre’s contract situation. However, it has also been said that “McIntyre is currently working with the idea that there is a good chance he will end up” with the company.
McIntyre has been out since WrestleMania 39. He missed post-WrestleMania SmackDown due to what was said to be a health issue, then it was reported that he was working at WrestleMania while injured. There’s still no word on the severity of the injury, or when the issue first occurred.
As we noted, McIntyre’s WWE contract expires before the end of this year, but the two sides haven’t agreed on a new deal and McIntyre has told people he isn’t looking to make a decision until then. the end of the year, closer to the expiration date. It has also been reported that McIntyre is unhappy with WWE for various reasons, but his current hiatus has nothing to do with his contract or his reported dissatisfaction.
