It was in the air but since the latest news had denied his presence, it was still a surprise during WWE Money in the Bank, to see Drew McIntyre make his return to the WWE ring.
As you know, he was absent since WrestleMania 39, and we had no news of the former Universal champion, to treat injuries, but also because his contract expires with WWE and his future seemed uncertain even as rumors sent him to the All Elite Wrestling side.
Eventually, Drew made his comeback following Gunther’s match to attack him with a Claymore Kick and celebrate with the Intercontinental title. Drew McIntyre who then chanted: “I’M BACK”, all that at home in front of his family.
During the post-Money in the Bank press conference, the subject of Drew McIntyre’s contract came up and Triple H said there was no problem between the two parties:
