Dresden – The new state parliament meets in Saxony – Deutschlandfunk

The new Saxon state parliament has 120 members. The CDU has 41 seats. The second strongest faction is the AfD with 40 seats. Also represented are factions from the SPD, Alliance Sahra Wagenknecht, the Greens, the Left and the Free Voters. The first discussions about forming a joint government took place between the CDU, SPD and BSW.

From today, Saxony will also take over the chairmanship of the Prime Minister’s Conference for one year. The Free State follows Hesse. The so-called MPK is a committee of the heads of government of the 16 federal states.
