Dresden: Musical actor Koffi Missah loves the “King of Pop” – I personally met Michael Jackson backstage

Dresden – “Men’s Night Out” with Michael Jackson! The Boulevard Theater Dresden make it possible. Because musical actor Koffi Missah will be on stage in the new production as bar owner Ben from April 2nd. But actually, the native Londoner has been slipping into the role of the King of Pop for six years – and also met him personally.

Koffi has been touring with the Michael Jackson Live Tribute Show since 2017. “Right now I’m playing 18 men’s evening performances, but from mid-July the show will be on the road once more in Germany and Switzerland,” says Koffi happily.

He also impressed in a second Jackson show: “Beat it!”, which celebrated its world premiere on August 28, 2018 in Berlin. The following day Michael Jackson († 2009) would have been 60 years old.

“I met Michael in 1984,” reports Koffi with beaming eyes. He was in London with the cult musical “Starlight Express”. “Jackson watched the spectacle twice and came to us artists backstage. It was a magical moment.”

It’s over far too quickly: “I didn’t have a chance to be photographed with him.”

But: Superstar Diana Ross (78, “Upside Down”) was snapped with Koffi. And Koffi also has a photo with Michael’s brother Jermain Jackson (68) – from the “Beat it!” premiere.

“Interpreting Michael Jackson’s songs is a big challenge. But it’s also great that his songs still inspire generations today.”

In “Men’s Night”, on the other hand, Koffi wants to rip the audience off their seats with swing variations from “Mambo No 5” to “New York, New York”. “I’ll explode on stage,” promises the Berliner by choice.
