Dresden – Black and yellow Christmas angels in action! The floods continue to keep Dresden in suspense shortly before the turn of the year, and the level of the Elbe is still rising. Dynamo’s training grounds could also fall victim to the masses of water, which is why the captain himself got involved on Tuesday.

The sports community probably doesn’t have to worry about the professionals’ training facility in the ultra-modern functional building of the Walter Fritzsch Academy on Messering, but the lower-lying training areas of the Ostragehege, which are mostly used by young talent, are in danger of flooding.

Although it is not yet clear whether the flood will actually reach them, it is well known that it is better to be safe than sorry. Therefore, on Boxing Day, numerous employees, coaches and players from the youth academy rolled up their sleeves and cleared the area, like the Bild newspaper reported.

The troops diligently dismantled fences, lifted gates out of the danger zone and collected valuable equipment.

SGD leader Stefan Kutschke (35) even interrupted his well-deserved winter break vacation for the preventative clean-up operation. Pictures showed how the Dresden native dragged parts of the fence to keep them safe from the threatening force of nature.

In addition to the striker, Dynamos managing directors David Fischer (39) and Stephan Zimmermann (36) also spat in their hands and actively made them available for the club.

The peak of the flood is probably yet to come. Tomorrow, Wednesday, the water level in Dresden will most likely exceed the six meter mark.
