Dream weather prevailed on the first of a total of five evenings in the area of Totzenbach Castle and the subsequent cultural hostel with a wonderful backdrop. All five performances of the station theater “The Little Prince” were completely sold out. “We’ve been rehearsing since spring, and now in August, of course, very intensively,” said Thomas Koller. The ensemble consists of 22 actors and actresses between the ages of 13 and 27. “A few are a tad older,” added director and producer Thomas Koller. The participants come from Vienna, Lilienfeld, Krems, Obergrafendorf and from the Laabental: Two students from the Laabental middle school are there, as well as some former students. Many have already stood together on stage at “Jugend ohne Gott” last year. “It’s a really great, very committed group,” says Thomas Koller with enormous pride.
“There are six princes who walk through the grounds to the various stations, they are accompanied by a maximum of 30 people from the audience, so the audience embarks on the journey with their prince,” explained a cast member who acted as the lighting technician. Then we go to the Rondell for the joint finale. The actors and actresses ensure that a coherent play is created from this story by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry in a wide variety of locations.
With his professional youth theater, Thomas Koller has been causing a sensation for years. And he already has a concept for 2024: “Vea Kaiser even provides texts free of charge and there will be texts by other young authors,” says Koller. “It will also be a station theater, but very different than this year.” And there are already initial ideas for a performance in 2025, with which Thomas Koller and his team will surprise the audience.
Josefa Baumgartner, Ignaz Waxenegger, Erika Baumgartner and Hermine Waxenegger were already looking forward to the theatrical performance.
