Even though Richard Lugner had been struggling with health problems in recent weeks and months, it still came as a surprise and hit the public with full force: Austria’s most famous builder died on Monday morning at the age of 91 in his home in Döbling.
Now his sixth wife, Simone Lugner, has posted emotional words on Instagram – and gives a first insight into her inner life. The 42-year-old writes about an artistic portrait of her late husband: “You were the dream of my life. And when I saw you beaming at the sight of me, I knew that I was yours too. With love.”

It was not until June 1st that Simone and Richard sealed their love at the altar. The civil ceremony took place in Vienna’s town hall. The church wedding was planned for October 12th in St. Stephen’s Cathedral – one day after Lugner’s 92nd birthday.
