North Carolina Brother David Atwell Wins $800K Lottery After His Sister Dreams of Finding ‘Lot of Gold’

A North Carolina man has won more than $800,000 in the lottery after his sister says she dreamed about riches.
David Atwell, of Kannapolis, won $837,187 in Saturday night’s drawing for a Cash 5 on a $1 ticket he bought at a local Jiffy Quik, North Carolina’s Education Lottery Announced.
“I was amazed,” he said. “I first saw the jackpot drop back to $100,000, so I knew someone had hit it. I had no idea it was me.”
However, his sister had a hunch that prosperity would be in his future.
“In her dream I found a lot of gold,” he recalled. “I guess dreams do come true.”

Atwell added that his family “always said I was the luckiest one.”
He said that after he found out he won, he “screamed so hard it scared the cat.”
He claimed his prize Monday at lottery headquarters in Raleigh.
Atwell took home a total of $598,591 after taxes, which he said he plans to use to pay some bills and donate to his church.
