DRC: Tony Mwaba opens the Emergency Equity and Strengthening of the Education System Project

Minister of EPST Tony Mwaba as Steering President, opened the 4th PERSE Steering meeting
(Emergency Equity and Strengthening of the Education System Project)

The fourth steering meeting of the Emergency Equity Project for Strengthening the Education System (PERSE) was held this Monday, March 4, at the NTUMBA Room in Pullman Hotel.

The Project saw the light of day in 2020 for a main mission to consolidate free primary education, due to 10 pilot provinces and the said project would have a deadline of 2024.

The objective of this 4th steering meeting is to evaluate the project in its entirety, that is to say, to assess the progress in achieving the results at the end of 2023.

Therefore, these meetings will aim to ensure the success of the Project by expanding the scope to 26 provinces unlike the 10 provinces initially targeted by the project in addition to the expected results of direct disbursement to the Public Treasury in relation to the results.

Let us specify that the 4th steering meeting will also have as its motive the examination of a one-year extension of the project given the delay caused in achieving the results and the disbursement, which project which initially should be completed at the end of 2024 .
