The Constitutional Court delivered its judgments, this Tuesday, March 12, 2023, regarding disputes over the provisional results of the national legislative elections of December 20, 2023, as published by the Independent National Electoral Commission (CENI).

Contrary to what he said at the start of the hearing, the President of the Constitutional Court, Dieudonné Kamuleta, returned to the figures put forward. He affirmed at the end of the speech that the total number of deputies rehabilitated after examination of the appeals is 46 rather than 49.

As for the number of requests declared admissible and well-founded, there are 43. It is with the reaching of the threshold of certain applicants and the connection of certain cases that the total number of validated national deputies is brought to 46, a- he clarified.

After the delivery of judgments on the challenges to the provisional results of the election of national deputies, the Constitutional Court read, immediately, the final list of 477 national deputies elected for the 2024 – 2028 legislature in the DRC.

The President of the High Court, Dieudonné Kamuleta, recalled that a total of 41,738,628 voters were registered for the elections of December 20, 2023 in the DRC. Those who actually voted numbered 18,813,469. According to him, the participation rate in these elections is 43%.
