The Congolese opponent and former Prime Minister, Augustin Matata Ponyo, was received this Saturday, February 17 by Augustin Kabuya in his capacity as an informant with a view to identifying the parliamentary majority within the National Assembly.
Matata Ponyo was elected national deputy for this new legislature. He was very critical of the regime of Félix Tshisekedi during his first term.
During the last presidential election campaign, which ended in a victory for Félix Tshisekedi, Matata Ponyo chose to join forces with Moïse Katumbi to try to beat Tshisekedi.
However, in one of his media outings, the secretary general of the Matata Ponyo party, Franklin Tshiamala, said he was willing to work with Félix Tshisekedi, but under certain conditions.
Note also that Matata Ponyo has a case pending at the Constitutional Court on the debacle of the Bukanga Lonzo agro-food park, the hearings of which should resume next March.
