Draymond Green falls back into his ways

Dirty start to the season for the Warriors. Despite Stephen Curry’s incredible performances every night, Golden State is struggling to string together wins. And with the absence of Andrew Wiggins, we expected to see Draymond Green step up, but unfortunately the opposite has happened for two games.

Nothing is going well for Dray-Dray. Expected to coordinate the Warriors’ defense last night in Indianapolis, the veteran released a game sheet that was disastrous to say the least. In 27 minutes on the field, Draymond is 1 small point, 2 poor rebounds and 3 assists. In shooting, we start with a 0/3 and as long as we have to, add 6 bullet losses. But to say that D. Green was invisible on the floor would actually be wrong. We have seen it and seen it well. Talking, sometimes to the referees, sometimes to the public, or even to the opponents. Dray even ended up getting the refs drunk and was asked to clear. Add to that Steph Curry’s exit with a shoulder injury (Steph was still able to plant 38 points in 29 minutes before going to the locker room), mix it all up, and you have a disaster for the near future of Steve Kerr and his guys. A good evening to be a fan of the Warriors, what.

After the scandals that had animated the Warriors locker room in pre-season, following in particular Draymond Green’s potato in the face of Jordan Poole, Dray had the spotlight on him and had to make amends in some way. And if the strong winger of the Warriors was able to be effective in his own way at the start of the season, it is clear that the attitude of the pit bull has not really improved. He signed his ninth technique of the season, unsurprisingly the highest total in the League. A little reminder for all intents and purposes: since 2010, the NBA has set a limit of 15 technical fouls per season, beyond which players who continue to commit these offenses are now inflicted one game suspension for every two technical fouls.

With 54 games remaining this season for Golden State and “only” 6 technical foul credits awarded to Draymond Greenthe bloodthirsty vet from San Francisco is going to have to seriously start cooling his nerves if he doesn’t want bets to be made regarding his number of games missed for behavioral issues. And frankly – Steph will not contradict us – this is not the time for Golden State.
