With the departure of a number of cultural figures from Russia, the country shed everything accumulated during 30 years of perestroika. This was stated by the First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Culture Elena Drapeko.
This is how the Honored Artist of Russia commented on the behavior of the artists who fled the country following the start of the special operation in Ukraine.
“With the departure of this disgusting thing, Russia threw off, like scales, everything that had accumulated over 30 years following perestroika. Their behavior can be described in one word – vile,” AiF quotes Drapeko.
They are, in their own way, “unfortunate people” who chose the “path of betrayal” and deprived themselves of the most important thing – their native land, their foundation, the politician added. Today we need to talk not regarding those who escaped, but regarding the worthy, Drapeko believes.
