Kuwait City | An expatriate’s attempt to enter Kuwait using a fake passport set the stage for dramatic scenes at the airport. The other day, dramatic scenes took place at the Kuwait International Airport where many officers on duty took off their hats.
The incident started when the expatriate who arrived on the work visa was caught during the fingerprint check at the airport. He was found to be a person who had been smuggled out of Kuwait years ago due to violation of the law and was handed over to the passport department officials. What baffled the officials was how the man, who is currently barred from entering the country, managed to obtain an entry visa and a valid police clearance certificate.
In the meantime, he ran away to the transit hall, avoiding the eyes of the officers. He was caught within minutes. Then he was sent back home. There were reports that the person who came from the smuggling center was caught while trying to escape from the airport. However, security officials later clarified that he attempted to escape while arriving at Kuwait airport from his home country and not during deportation. The Ministry of Home Affairs has ordered an investigation by suspending the officials responsible for the incident. Officials have not disclosed the nationality of the suspect. However, it is clear that he is from Asia.
