On February 27, there was a dramatic helicopter crash in Medellín, Colombia, which, miraculously, all those on board survived. Harrowing video footage, both from inside and outside the helicopter, offers a spectacular insight into the shocking events.

Various videos published on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter) show how the helicopter loses control immediately following take-off and goes into a spiral. Eventually he falls behind a building and, in an almost unbelievable coincidence, ends up hanging upside down on a telephone pole.

The shots from inside the helicopter are particularly moving. As some passengers hold hands in fear, another passenger can be heard saying: “Dad, I just had a helicopter crash. I’m trapped in a building, pretty high up. I’ll get through this, Dad. I just wanted to tell you that I love you. I’m hanging from a telephone pole.”

The city’s Disaster Risk Management Department confirmed that all passengers were rescued from the wreckage alive thanks to the rapid response of 70 rescue workers. However, one of the inmates had to be taken to a medical facility due to a broken leg.

The exact circumstances that led to the accident are not yet known. Investigations into the cause of the crash are currently ongoing and are being closely monitored by the relevant authorities.
