PSG came close to being penalized during the 5th day of the Champions League. At home, the Parisians were trailing Newcastle for a long time before equalizing from the penalty spot at the end of added time and snatching a draw (1-1).

At the Parc des Princes, PSG conceded the opener in the 24th minute following a handball from Gianluigi Donnarumma benefiting Alexander Isak who made it 1-0 for Newcastle. Largely dominant in the second half (31 shots) but clumsy in front of goal and facing a great Nick Pope, the Parisians obtained a penalty at the very end of the match.

As leader, Kylian Mbappé took responsibility to equalize in the last seconds (90+8′). In the standings, PSG therefore remains second with 1 point ahead of their evening opponent. Not yet qualified but still in control of their destiny, the Parisians will have to win in Dortmund to avoid any unpleasant surprises.

Dortmund qualified

AC Milan may not see Europe this spring. The Lombards conceded a setback without discussion once morest Borussia Dortmund. It all started badly for them when Olivier Giroud missed the conversion of a penalty in the 6th minute. Four minutes later, Reus showed more skill in the same exercise to open the scoring.

After Chukwueze’s equalizer following a solo which left Swiss goalkeeper Gregor Kobel no chance, the Ruhr players made the difference through Bynoe-Gittens (59th) and Adeyemi (69th).

The Milanese are now last and must absolutely win at Newcastle, hoping that PSG does not win at Dortmund.
