Bengaluru: The arrival of Pakistan football team in India was dramatic. Since it was not possible to reach Bengaluru in the same flight, the team arrived in two groups. The second team arrived just six hours before the start of the match. The 32-member team, including players and coaching staff, reached Mumbai from Mauritius at 1 am but might not reach Bengaluru by a flight from here.
The first group boarded the flight to Bengaluru at 4 am. The second group had to wait at the Mumbai airport till 9.15 am due to a delay in immigration clearance. The second group reached the hotel near Kanteerava Stadium following 1 pm. There were rumors that the 7.30 pm match would be postponed due to the late arrival of the team.
The Karnataka State Football Association has made heavy security arrangements in view of the arrival of the Pakistan team. The arrival of the Pakistan team was uncertain due to the visa hurdle. On Monday night, the Indian High Commissioner in Mauritius cleared the hurdles and made the trip a reality.
