Canadian rapper Drake announced the day before yesterday that he will take a break for “a year or more” from his music career to “focus” on his health, noting that he suffers from “intestinal problems.”
Drake said on his radio show “Table for One”: “Maybe I will stop producing music for a certain period. I will be honest: I have to focus on my health to regain my energy.”
The 36-year-old singer explained that his condition is “not dangerous,” as he has been suffering from “many intestinal problems” for several years. He indicated that he had other things to accomplish, without providing additional details. He continued, “I will close the studio for a certain time,” noting that the pause in his career might be “for a year or a little more.” Many of his anticipated concerts in the United States were postponed, as appeared on his website and the Ticketmaster platform. This announcement comes on the same day he released his new album, “For All the Dogs.”
His five-year-old son created the album cover art, and appeared in the video clip for the song “8 AM in Charlotte.”
