Blizzard presented updated talent trees, which the company returns to in the expansion World of Warcraft: Dragonflight. So far, only the new priest talents have been presented in detail, but the developers talked about their approach to reworking the talent system.

The updated system is intended to increase the player’s influence on the development and specialization of the character, provide meaningful rewards when leveling up, and preserve the identity of the class and its key abilities. At the same time, the visual representation makes the process intuitive.

Players will have different trees at their disposal, one of them is for the class as a whole, the second is for the chosen specialization. For them, players will have different points, and they will start getting them from level 10-11. At level 70, we will have 31 class points and 30 specialization points.

The lower the talents, the more specialized they are, aimed at certain assemblies of the maximum level. But at the same time, the basic abilities and useful skills can be easily obtained from the very beginning, they will not affect the choice of development path.

At the same time, freedom of choice, according to Blizzard, could lead to some talent builds being “very bad.” But with a thoughtful approach, players shouldn’t feel left out compared to previous expansions.

World of Warcraft: Dragonflight is out this year and pre-orders are open already started. The exact release date has not yet been named.
