Dr. Jean-Claude Tardif, director of the Montreal Heart Institute Research Center and full professor of medicine at the University of Montreal, is the recipient of the Desmond Julian Prize, which annually highlights the quality and innovative scope of a scientific article published in the European Heart Journal.
Son article «Apolipoprotein C-III reduction in subjects with moderate hypertriglyceridemia and at high cardiovascular risk» greatly impressed the selection committee, which evaluated the originality of the subject, the methodology, the relevance and the presentation. The article focuses on the treatment of lipids (fats) in patients at high cardiovascular risk.
The award ceremony took place on the occasion of the congress of the European Society of Cardiology, which was held from August 25 to 28 in Amsterdam.
