Dr. Dansa Kourouma, President of the National Transitional Council (CNT) spoke regarding the drafting of the new Constitution and its provisions.
Among our colleagues from Radio France internationale (RFI) this Thursday, June 29, 2023, the head of the Guinean parliament supports that at the end of this transition, several political parties will disappear because of the criteria which will be defined in the new Constitution which is being developed. “The reorganization of the partisan system is a request from the population, which was consulted by the CNT during the consultation missions that we organized throughout the national territory”. He also affirms that the report of the national meetings, “on forgiveness and reconciliation” revealed the imperative need to organize the partisan system and especially the conditions for the creation, operation and organization of the mode of control of political parties. .
On the other hand, Dr. Dansa kourouma reassures that there will be no limitation of political parties in this Constitution. All the same, there will be, he said, a “democratic filter which allows political parties to respect the conditions of their creation, but also the conditions for the exercise of democratic freedoms (…). There are parties that may not comply with the new criteria that will be defined in the new Constitution,” he concluded.
