Born into a vibrant Italian-American family in New Jersey, Dale was affectionately known as “Mig” or Mike, a nod to his middle name, Michael.Even as a child, his natural charisma and leadership shone through. Friends and family frequently enough joked about his childhood nickname, “Mussolini,” a playful reference to his tendency to take charge during games. His ability to lead with confidence and humor made him a beloved figure among his peers.
This innate leadership carried into his professional life.As a chiropractor and owner of a wellness clinic in Santa Barbara,Dale was more than a healthcare provider—he was a trusted healer.His patients admired his holistic approach, which addressed not just physical ailments but also mental and emotional well-being. “he didn’t just treat symptoms; he transformed lives,” one patient recalled.
Dale’s journey to chiropractic care was shaped by a pivotal moment during his gap year in Utah. After a rock-climbing accident left him with a dislocated shoulder, he sought the help of a chiropractor who practiced Touch for Health, a technique rooted in kinesiology. The treatment not only accelerated his recovery but also inspired him to pursue chiropractic medicine. He later enrolled at Cleveland Chiropractic College in Los Angeles, where he forged lifelong friendships and honed his craft under the mentorship of Dr. David Denton.
In Santa Barbara, dale co-founded a practice with his friend Dr. Peter Levy, later joined by Dr. Sobyl Bunis. Together, they built a thriving clinic before Dale eventually established his solo practice, Santa Barbara Wellness for Life. His second wife, Laurie Dean, became an integral part of his practice, supporting him for over two decades.
Dale’s approach to chiropractic care was revolutionary. He integrated cutting-edge technologies like pulsed electromagnetic field equipment (PEMF) and neurofeedback therapies to enhance patient outcomes. His passion for learning and sharing knowledge made him a beacon of innovation in his field.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dale was a man of many passions. An avid soccer fan, he never missed a UCSB Gauchos men’s game. He also found joy in cycling through the Santa Barbara hills and challenging himself physically. His love for cooking brought family and friends together, with his Friday night dinners and holiday feasts becoming legendary.
Dale’s passing has left a profound void in the lives of his family,friends,and patients. He is survived by his wife Laurie, children Mathew and Sarah, granddaughters Willa and georgie, and a large extended family spanning multiple states.
