DR Congo decides to sack Hector Cuper

The Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) announced Thursday evening, officially, the dismissal of Argentine coach Hector Cuper, following failing to achieve hopes of advancing the team’s level, following the failure to qualify for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The Congolese team had lost to Gabon 0-1 and then Sudan 1-2 in the first and third rounds of the 2023 African Nations qualifiers in Cote d’Ivoire.

The Democratic Republic of the Congo is at the bottom of Group Nine in the 2023 African Nations Qualifiers in Côte d’Ivoire, without points.
