The Mobile Recapitulation Information SYSTEM (Sirekap) in the Regional Head Election (Pilkada) will be used in Simultaneous 2024. Chairman of Commission II DPR RI Rifqinizamy Karsayuda assesses Sirekap Mobile is part of efforts to strengthen constitutional democracy that is transparent, accountable and professional. However, Rifqinizamy emphasized that the application was only a tool during the vote recapitulation process.
Based on KPU regulations and recommendations from meetings with the opinion of the KPU and Commission II of the DPR RI, Rifqinizamy said Sirekap Mobile is not the main reference in terms of vote recapitulation.
“Sirekap is only a tool so that the performance of vote counting by the KPU in stages starting from TPS, sub-district, district, province to the center can really be carried out transparently and accountable,” he explained, Friday (8/11).

Separately, Indonesian KPU member Betty Epsilon Idroos said that her party had made several improvements to Sirekap Mobile compared to the Sirekap version used during the 2024 Election. One of them is a form that has markers in columns and rows so that it can speed up the conversion of the information system from Sirekap web.
Later, continued Betty, the KPU will provide technical guidance to Sirekap Mobile users in the form of a video simulation of using the application as well as a 24-hour assistance service for users who are confused.
“We will prepare a 24-hour helpdesk for our officers throughout Indonesia so that Sirekap Mobile can be used optimally,” he concluded. (H-3)

**Interview with Rifqinizamy Karsayuda, Chairman of Commission II DPR RI**
**Editor:** Thank you for joining us today, Chairman Karsayuda. Let’s dive right in. Can you explain how the Sirekap Mobile system will be used in the upcoming Simultaneous 2024 Regional Head Elections?
**Karsayuda:** Thank you for having me. The Sirekap Mobile system is designed to enhance the transparency and efficiency of the electoral process. It will be instrumental in collecting and recapitulating vote data in real-time during the Pilkada, allowing for faster and more accurate reporting of results.
**Editor:** There has been some skepticism about technology in elections. How do you respond to those concerns regarding Sirekap Mobile?
**Karsayuda:** I understand the apprehension, especially given the reliance on technology in critical processes like elections. However, it’s essential to recognize that Sirekap Mobile is just a tool. It is not a replacement for the manual processes but rather a supplementary system that enhances the overall integrity of the election. We have implemented robust security measures to ensure that the data collected is safe and reliable.
**Editor:** What does the successful implementation of Sirekap Mobile mean for voters in the 2024 elections?
**Karsayuda:** The success of Sirekap Mobile will ultimately lead to a more transparent electoral process. Voters will have greater confidence in the election results because they can expect quicker updates and less chance of human error. Our goal is to maintain public trust in the electoral process, and this system is a significant step in that direction.
**Editor:** Lastly, what other measures is Commission II taking to prepare for the upcoming elections?
**Karsayuda:** Besides adopting the Sirekap Mobile system, we are also focusing on comprehensive voter education campaigns and ensuring adequate training for election officials. We believe that an informed electorate and well-prepared officials are crucial to a successful electoral process.
**Editor:** Thank you, Chairman Karsayuda, for sharing your insights on this important topic.
**Karsayuda:** Thank you for having me. I appreciate the opportunity to discuss the future of our elections.
