The House of Representatives (DPR) and the government have firmly stated their commitment to support the Public Housing Savings Management Agency (BP Tapera), as well as the Tapera program scheme stated in the DPR’s statement and the president’s statement at the Constitutional Court (MK) hearing with the agenda of hearing statements from the DPR and the President on Wednesday (6/11), in the Plenary Courtroom of the Constitutional Court, Jakarta.
Abdullah’s DPR RI Proxy Team views this step as a form of the seriousness of the DPR and the government in increasing public access to livable and affordable housing. Tapera is a fund collection program aimed at housing financing.
“Referring to this goal, it is appropriate to understand that the program aims to guarantee access for all residents, especially Low Income Communities (MBR), to fulfill their right to residence,” he said in an official statement, Thursday (7/11).

On the same occasion, the Director General of Public Works and Housing Infrastructure Financing of the Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PU-Pera) Triono Junoasmono said that the Tapera scheme is mandatory with the principle of mutual cooperation which aims to guarantee the fulfillment of the right to residence for all citizens.
This is to create distributive justice in housing financing and reduce dependence on funding sources from the state revenue and expenditure budget (APBN) in order to provide housing for the community.
“The Tapera program cannot be interpreted as a financial burden, but instead must be interpreted as savings for participants that provide many benefits,” he said.

The existence of BP Tapera, he stressed, must be maintained and supported by the government and the wider community, so that this program can provide real benefits for the welfare of the Indonesian people.
BP Tapera welcomes the full support provided by the DPR and the government. This support has become a new spirit for BP Tapera to continue to be committed to carrying out its mandate to realize access to decent and affordable housing for the Indonesian people, especially MBR.
BP Tapera is optimistic that with strong synergy between various parties, the Tapera program can provide optimal benefits for community welfare and support the achievement of equal distribution of residency rights in Indonesia. (J-3)
