DPaschoal present in debate regarding changes in the market and the impact of technology on hiring drivers
The road transport industry is facing a number of significant challenges, including the lack of specialized professionals, the need for continuous training, the emergence of new technologies and service innovations, as well as the consequences of these issues for companies and employees. A meeting, held by communicator Chico da Boleia, this Tuesday, September 12th, at 6:30 pm, at SEST SENAT in Porto Ferreira/SP, with the support of DPaschoal, called “The Future of the Steering Wheel Professional”, will debate and come up with solutions to these challenges.
“The Future of the Steering Wheel Professional” will be held at SEST SENAT in Porto Ferreira/SP
One of the industry’s main concerns is the shortage of qualified drivers, and to address this challenge, transport companies are adopting measures such as training programs to train new drivers and update the skills of existing ones, with training in safety, regulations and safety skills. Advanced management, as well as recruitment campaigns targeting young people and underrepresented groups are being launched to attract more talent to the industry.
Vehicle automation
One of the topics to be covered during the initiative is vehicle automation. In an article recently published on the Chico da Boleia website, Jurandir Fernandes, coordinator of the Transport and Logistics Committee of the São Paulo Engineers Union (SEESP) and the International Consultative Committee of the São Paulo Center for Energy Transition Studies – CPTEn – UNICAMP, explains that “in the case of cargo transport, automation must gain more strength in various links in the logistics chain and in long-distance transport. However, it is important to highlight that the large-scale implementation of fully autonomous vehicles faces technical, regulatory and social acceptance challenges. Therefore, the transition to autonomous vehicles will not occur immediately or completely in the short term, that is, in the next 10 years. It will occur gradually, as we are already noticing in current vehicles equipped with lane change detectors, warning of obstacles ahead, alarms to warn once morest drowsiness at the wheel and many other safety features.”
