Downhill queen Valentina Höll: “In the next life I’ll be a skier” – bottom bracket

Serial winner in the World Cup, world champion, overall World Cup winner – at just 22 years old, Valentina Höll is where many never reach at the end of a long athlete’s life: at the absolute zenith. In the summer of 2023, the Saalbach native seemed to succeed in everything, even the long-awaited home victory at the World Cup in Leogang. After this fabulous season, she seems much more relaxed than before and says so herself. But instead of resting on her success, the still young exceptional talent wants to be with a new team in 2024 and probably the best-paid contract that a racing driver has ever had in this discipline negotiated for itself, start once more. The STANDARD bottom bracket met the likeable Queen of Downhill for a detailed interview in her new hometown of Innsbruck. She spoke regarding her still unusual role model, her commitment to better working conditions for women in downhill sports and why she thinks the ban on cyclists in Austria is nonsense and how digitalization has affected Loïc Bruni’s downhill plane.
