Dow futures fall more than 100 points, bank stocks pressure the market | RYT9

Dow futures fell more than 100 points today, pressured by a slump in bank stocks in pre-open trading.

As of 8:19 p.m. Thai time, the Dow Jones futures dropped 133 points or 0.41% to 31,962 points.

The stock price of First Republic Bank (FRB), a US regional bank. It tumbled sharply in pre-opening trading on Wall Street today. It has been pressured by the US government’s shutdown of Silicon Valley Bank (SVB) and Signature Bank (SB).

Other shares in the U.S. regional banking group also fell before the open. While investors are concerned that the collapse of SVB and SB will have a pervasive effect on US regional banks.

FRB is the bank with the third highest volume of non-government guaranteed deposits behind SVB and SB.

In addition, FRC share price has slumped nearly 75% since early March.
