Eva Pinkelnig also won the second competition in Hinzenbach on Sunday and is leaving Upper Austria as a double winner. The Vorarlberg woman won with 90 and 90.5 meters and 246.6 points, 7.7 points ahead of the Slovenian Nika Prevc. Jacqueline Seifriedsberger, who came second on Saturday, came third, 1.1 points behind Prevc.

For Pinkelnig, who started the season late, it was her fifth success this winter alone and her 14th overall in the World Cup. Seifriedsberger improved from sixth place to third place, meaning the ÖSV team once once more managed two podium places.

“It’s incredible. I was able to experience that in Villach, and now also there in Hinzenbach, winning twice at home. And now to be on the podium twice with Jacqui is just cool,” said a delighted Pinkelnig, who has now also moved up to second place in the overall World Cup.

For her coach Thomas Diethart it was also a 32nd birthday present. “Absolutely, I still have to tell the stadium announcer that we’re all still singing Happy Birthday together,” said Pinkelnig. She will now take second place overall. “I’ve never been good at arithmetic. I can ski jump quite well, that’s what I concentrate on,” she said in an ORF interview.

Seifriedsberger was also happy, especially with the second round. “That was a really cool jump, there was too much violence in the first one. I generally don’t complain. I’m happy with what’s happening at the moment. Standing on the podium is not an everyday occurrence, especially twice at home.”

As the third-best Austrian, Lisa Eder made it into the top ten thanks to an 87.5 m set in the second round. Eder improved from twelfth to seventh place.
