Breathe a sigh of relief at FC Bologna: After five games without a win, ÖFB legionnaire Marko Arnautovic shoots Rossoblu to three points against Spezia Calcio.
In the past nine games, FC Bologna suffered a whopping seven defeats. Four of them in the last five games. There was a sense of achievement against Spezia on Monday evening: Bologna won 2-1 after being 1-0 down.
After 40 minutes, Arnautovic equalized via a left-footed shot, and the Austrian headed in five minutes before the end to make it 2-1. Arnautovic now has eight goals this season, while Bologna is 13th in the table.
Arnautovic: “I could always live with that”
“I’m happy about three points, that’s the most important thing in this situation,” Arnautovic answered questions about his performance after the final whistle at DAZN. “I work for the team, I can’t score without my colleagues. We’ve had some problems lately, but now Salernitana is waiting and we can win again. There’s a lot of criticism at the moment, journalists are doing their job – I’ve always been able to live with that .”
Coach Sinisa Mihajlovic praised Arnautovic. “Today Arnautovic only played against Arnautovic. In a way he reminds me a bit of Mancini in the sense that he likes more assists than goals, so during the week I had him repeat some actions where he shoots the ball could instead of passing the ball,” explains Mihajlovic.
Mihajlovic continued: “Today he did it straight away. He hit the crossbar once, twice in goal. He sacrificed himself and, in short, did everything we asked him to do. Now he’s fine and he has to keep going like this.”
