NEW YORK, Jul 7.- At least 36 people have been hospitalized and another 35 have had to be treated this Thursday following a collision between two buses in the US city of New York.
The New York City Fire Department has reported a “major accident” at First Avenue and 23rd Street in Manhattan, where a double-decker tour bus collided with a city bus, according to >. .
“36 people have been hospitalized, while another 35 have received assistance on the spot. None of the injured are in danger,” said the deputy chief of the First Division of Emergency Medical Services, Paul Hopper.
Hopper added that both buses were “fully occupied” at the time of the accident, and that many of the injured have presented “cuts, bruises, scratches, suspected fractures and some neck and head pain.”
The driver of the tourist bus had to be sent to the hospital, although the authorities have assured that he is not the one with the “most serious” injuries. There is still no confirmation regarding the causes of the accident.
