The greatest Italian secrets, stolen and contained in the archive of Milan’s spies who aimed to keep the country in their grip with dossiers. Revealing the existence of those highly confidential documents is Nunzio Calamucci, one of the leaders of the organization and inventor of the Beyond system, the program for archiving and sharing files exfiltrated from national databases. A digital catalog in which the hacker had also inserted the judicial documents stolen over the years by former state servants who had become commissioned spies. Among these, entire burning investigations by the police and carabinieri. It was November 10, 2023 when the soldiers of the Varese Army, who had planted the bugs in the dossier central, witnessed a conversation between Calamucci and another affiliate in the Equilize offices.
Calamucci shows his friend a series of files contained in the hard disk of Vincenzo De Marzio, code name «Tela», the former Ros who was responsible for Abu Omar’s kidnapping. And that, shortly before retiring, he had illegally “taken possession of the information and IT assets” of the Anti-Terrorism Section of the ROS of Milan. Confidential documents that the former soldier would have made available to the “gang”.
Even Marco Mancini, the former secret agent in charge of Italian counter-espionage, is listed in those files. Calamucci, in fact, shows his friend the files relating to the capture of Imam Abu Omar and the documents relating to Mancini. «He was caught then by mistake he was handed over to the FBI… this is Abu Omar’s order, the request for his arrest… you know who Mancini Marco is», says Calamucci showing the photos. «Director of services – he adds – the one they photographed with Renzi at the Autogrilli… Vincenzo knows him (De Marzio, ed.)».
The inventor of Beyond then explains the quality of the information they have. “What interests you about terrorism… I put it inside you, so you can look at it… the Digos report, the Red Brigades, the Far Right.”
Another important part of documents comes from Carmine Gallo, the former anti-mafia super policeman at the head of the company. Gallo also allegedly took possession of the classified files in the same way as the former Ros, including documents of Giulio Andreotti. «Prosecution, Guardia di Finanza, whoever has more, more and more, all our missions, everything we have done… think that afterwards… we have parts of Andreotti’s archive, I don’t know if you’re aware of the ‘archive?”.

**Interview with Nunzio Calamucci: Insights into the Secrets of Italy’s Intelligence**
*Date: October 30, 2024*
**Editor:** Hello, Nunzio Calamucci. Thank you for joining us today. Your recent revelations about the confidential documents involving Italy’s intelligence have sent shockwaves through the nation. Can you first share what motivated you to come forward with this information?
**Calamucci:** Thank you for having me. My motivation stemmed from a belief that the public deserves to know the truth about their government and how intelligence operations have been mishandled. These documents, which I accessed, reveal not just the misconduct within the intelligence community but also point to a much larger issue of accountability.
**Editor:** You mentioned in your revelations that you developed a system called “Beyond” for archiving and sharing files. Can you explain how this system works and its significance in the context of your findings?
**Calamucci:** The “Beyond” system is a digital catalog designed for the secure archiving and dissemination of sensitive files that were unlawfully obtained. It was created to expose the hidden threads of corruption and negligence within our intelligence services. By organizing these documents, I aimed to establish a clear narrative of what had transpired, especially concerning cases like that of Abu Omar.
**Editor:** The case surrounding Abu Omar, the Imam who was abducted in 2003, has long been controversial. How do these documents you’ve discovered shed new light on that incident?
**Calamucci:** The documents highlight the gross mishandling of intelligence operations, particularly by individuals like Vincenzo De Marzio, who had access to critical information and weaponized it for personal gain. The list of individuals involved, including Marco Mancini, demonstrates a deep-seated issue within the Italian intelligence apparatus that has hampered the pursuit of justice.
**Editor:** Given the sensitive nature of this information, what do you hope will be the outcome of your disclosures?
**Calamucci:** My hope is that these revelations will prompt a thorough investigation into the Italian intelligence community’s operations. There needs to be a restructuring that enhances transparency and accountability. Ultimately, I want the government to prioritize the rule of law over clandestine operations that have betrayed public trust.
**Editor:** Thank you, Nunzio, for sharing your insights with us today. It certainly gives us much to consider regarding the complexities of intelligence operations in Italy.
**Calamucci:** Thank you for having me. It’s imperative that we keep discussing these issues. Truth and accountability must prevail.
