Sebastian Kehl, sporting director of the German club Borussia Dortmund, denied rumors regarding the possibility of contracting veteran Portuguese striker Cristiano Ronaldo from the ranks of Manchester United.

On Friday, Dortmund CEO Hans-Joachim Watzke denied the speculation that some media reported regarding Ronaldo, before Kehl went out to confirm, “Cristiano Ronaldo will not move to Borussia Dortmund, that’s how it is.”

Kehl indicated that there had been no contact with the Portuguese captain, and that the club had not addressed this issue in the first place.

“There is a dramatic over-talk, but we have done some things in the past few days to stop this rumour,” Kiehl told Bild newspaper on Sunday.

And Kiehl confirmed that Ronaldo “is an amazing player for sure, a world-class player, but if he is said to be interested in the Bundesliga competition, that is not our case.”

Ronaldo said he was not happy at Manchester United, and CBS Sports reported this week that Dortmund represented Ronaldo’s last chance this summer to leave.

For its part, the Spanish newspaper “AS” reported that Ronaldo still has two options, his former club, Sporting Lisbon, or Dortmund.
