Tyrol’s deputy state governor Georg Dornauer (SPÖ) came under heavy criticism yesterday after a picture of him on a hunting trip with Signa bankrupt René Benko became public. They pose together in front of a shot deer. Particularly explosive: There has been a weapons ban against Dornauer since 2019.
The case was also reported on Monday in “ZiB2” – including a swipe from ORF presenter Armin Wolf. In an ironic manner, Wolf said goodbye to the audience and announced that he would dress up as a hunter for Carnival this year. With the smiling afterthought, “of course without shooting,” he put on a hunter’s hat, which of course didn’t belong to him, according to the moderator.
At the end, Wolf made the studio smile with another swipe: He announced the weather forecast “without a gun.”
