Fifty years since the founding of the New Republic will be completed next Friday, October 4, 2024, and DEEP SW Achaia is organizing an anniversary event next Monday, October 7 at 7:30 pm at the Hotel. MY WAY HOTEL & EVENTS, with speaker Chania MP and former Minister Dora Bakoyannis.
The announcement of the DEEP ND Achaia states:
“We celebrate on Friday, October 4, 2024, the 50th anniversary of the founding of our great democratic Party, New Democracy. We honor the founder of our party, Konstantinos Karamanlis, all the Presidents to date, all the great deceased and above all we honor the neo-democrats, our broad popular base, who fought for the same principles, the same values, the same ideals.
We are the faction that starred in the restoration of Democracy, the definitive resolution of the State, the establishment of the most democratic and progressive Constitution, the integration of our Country into the European Family.
We are the Party that addresses all Greeks and all Greek women, without discrimination and divisions. The Faction that advocates national unity and the rallying of Greeks towards common goals. The Faction that puts the national interest above all else.
50 years ago Konstantinos Karamanlis founded New Democracy. The great popular party that changed the course of Greece, establishing democracy and tying it to the chariot of the European Union against the opposition and the populism of the time.
With a legacy of a 50-year relationship of trust with the citizens and a fixed compass of the interest of the homeland, the New Democracy led by Kyriakos Mitsotakis is at the helm of the country, facing multiple challenges. Together we will turn them into opportunities for dynamic recovery with national solidarity, seriousness, responsibility and hard work.
Fifty years later, the message of our founding Declaration and the words of Constantinos Karamanlis resonate and guide us. With the fabric of our principles unshaken. And the flag of our ideas waving with the wind of renewal, in the intervening decades the New Republic matured, remaining a teenager.
It was, is and will be the party of historic national choices and bold political decisions. Born of society, acting within society.
Our faction, led by our Prime Minister and President Kyriakos Mitsotakis, still today justifies its progressive mission. Uniting Greeks in a proud present and building an even more optimistic future.
