Espenak highlights that certain locations within the path will experience up to four and a half minutes of the eclipse.

In the United States, the path starts in Texas and travels through Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. Parts of Tennessee and Michigan will also experience the event, according to NASA.

Zeiler advises, “If you have a friend or relative in Texas within the path, that’s where you want to be because that’s where the best weather prospects are. Texas is home to around 12 million people within the path, making it a prime spot.”
