One of the biggest surprises during Summer Game Fest was undoubtedly the official reveal of LEGO Horizon Adventures, a new multiplayer-based action-adventure LEGO game based on the iconic Guerilla Games franchise coming to PlayStation 5, Nintendo Switch, and PC later this year.
However, Xbox console players were not so lucky, as it will not be coming to Microsoft’s console. Now, in a new interview with Game Filethe team’s narrative director has given a typical answer as to why.
In short, when asked regarding Xbox, narrative director James Windeler said the team is “very focused on pushing the PlayStation 5 hardware to its limits,” though they will also be working on a less powerful version of LEGO Horizon Adventures for the Nintendo Switch.
“Right now, we’re very focused on pushing this hardware to the limits and making this game look as amazing as possible on this hardware,” Windeler said. “And you know, we don’t really have anything to announce on Xbox right now.”
The game, like previous LEGO games, can be played individually or cooperatively, allowing cross-play between platforms so that users can play this adventure together with their close friends.
The Horizon series has sold over 32.7 million units and this collaboration with LEGO gives the series a fresh look, showing a new way to explore the world and its creatures.
What stands out most regarding the graphics is how the entire LEGO setting stands out in a way that hasn’t been seen before, showing a game that visually appears very dynamic and that contains a very characteristic LEGO aesthetic.
