Sterilized retort instant soup and yellow canned products have been found to grow bacteria and are being recalled.

According to the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety on the 29th, the retort ready-to-cook food ‘Bibigo Bean Sprout Yellow Thai Soup’ manufactured by CJ CheilJedang was found to be ‘positive for bacterial growth’ as a result of the collection test, so it will stop selling and recall the product.

The expiration date of the recalled product is March 30th of next year.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety also announced that it was recalling the ‘Liquid Hwangdo Slice’ canned product manufactured by ‘Donglim Food’, a food manufacturing and processing company, and sold by ‘Yuseong Trading’ for the same reason. The expiration date of the recalled product is June 28, 2026.

Retort foods and canned products are sterilized and should not contain bacteria if stored at an appropriate temperature. However, when the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety tested the product in an environment at 37 degrees Celsius, it was confirmed that bacteria were growing.

The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety urged consumers who own the product to contact the customer service center indicated on the product or return it to the place of purchase. In addition, sellers storing the recalled food were asked to stop selling it and return it to the recall business operator.
