Don’t buy the Galaxy S23 Ultra now, 3 REASONS!

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has just been released, despite the hype that was created on top of the smartphone, after all it is a launch, there are reasons why you shouldn’t buy it at the moment, and I’ll explain them now.

Last year I was able to test the entire Galaxy S22 lineup. I’ve had great smartphone experiences, including ranking the S22 Ultra as the best smartphone of 2022.

3 Reasons Not to Buy the Galaxy S23 Now

There are some major reasons why you shouldn’t buy or upgrade to the Galaxy S23 Ultra right now, see.

Reason 1: Launch

The first reason is the launch. Yes, it may even seem strange not to buy the launch cell phone. But, here in Brazil, launches are very expensive, this is not just a Samsung rule. Motorola does this practice, Apple is not even mentioned, even Xiaomi launches products with high prices.

In addition, new products can have problems, wait a few months for other people to test it and then yes, you will be buying an already consolidated product.

Reason 2: Depreciation of the original value

Price depreciation Source: Samsung

Price depreciation on smartphones, especially Androids, is serious. I’ll give you some practical examples now, come here on the computer and I’ll show you.

The Galaxy S22 Ultra had the lowest retail price ever at R$4,549, which represents a drop of almost 50% from the original value of R$9,500. This value was found on Black Friday 2022, 10 months after its launch.

The most recent Motorola Edge 30 Ultra was launched for R$7000, in September, we are now in February, since the launch we had the lowest historical price of R$4814, 31% drop in a short time. Edge 30 Fusion, released the same day is currently at 32% depreciation.

Returning to Samsung, intermediate models, the M53 5G has an average value of 50% of the original, with 8 months since launch. The Galaxy S22, normal version is 42% devalued. The Galaxy Z Fold 4 itself, launched 6 months ago, has a current 30% devaluation.

This all proves that the depreciation in smartphones is at least 30% in six months. If you are willing to invest R$9000 and in 6 months you have less than 6 thousand in your hands, you can’t say that I didn’t warn you that this would happen.

Reason 3: The Galaxy S22 Ultra does it well

As I said, a great alternative to the S23 Ultra is the S22 Ultra. It’s okay that we are seeing that the S23 Ultra had a lot of improvements in cameras, not only the new sensors with emphasis on the 200MP, but advances in video recording and night photos.

You can’t say that those night shots you’re seeing above are bad. The S22 Ultra was the best photography phone I tested in 2022.

In addition, we are talking about a smartphone that will be updated to Android 16, not to mention that the S22 Ultra has already lost more than 30% of depreciation and is currently 2/3 of the value of the S23 Ultra. It is possible that you will find the S22 Ultra in the coming months for around R$ 5000 ~ R$ 5200, which I indicated the purchase in my review.

Be it the S23 Ultra, be it the S23 Plus or S23, I don’t recommend buying it in the first few months. New smartphones tend to lose a lot of value, moreover, product improvements come a few months after their release in updates. Let those in a hurry go through the possible problems, as soon as he is about 4 to 6 months old, look for good deals and get a great deal.
