don’t be surprised if Joshua Roy should be recalled for tomorrow’s game

Last Friday, the Canadian took the hockey world by surprise by recalling Owen Beck. The OHL prospect played Saturday night in Ottawa before returning to Peterborough.

He was able to be recalled because the Canadian met the conditions.

And obviously, if he is not able to have 12 healthy forwards for tomorrow’s game (what should be), the Canadiens could do the same by recalling a junior-aged player.

But this time it could be Joshua Roy.

Roy, he’s a guy who came close to being recalled last weekbut Beck’s timing and the fact that he can play in the middle tipped the odds in his favour.

That said, as we learn in the latest paper from Marc-Antoine Godin and Arpon Basu, there is a world where Roy will make his NHL debut tomorrow at the Bell Centre.

That said, we must not overlook the fact that the Canadian could simply decide to play with 11 forwards. As the journalists of The Athletic also talk about in their paper, the club is getting more and more used to such a format.

Otherwise, the option of recalling Laval will also be on the table. Anthony Richard et Joel Teasdale are good candidates.

We must not forget that last week, the Rocket was in Ohio, which made a recall all the more complicated. It also weighed in the balance to recall a guy who plays with the Laval Rocket.

For one game only, that’s understandable.

That said, as Jean-François Houle’s men are injured, not removing one more piece from the coach can weigh in the balance. No, the club don’t play until Friday, but the guys are pretty tired as well…

But above all, recalling Roy could be an interesting treat for him (and for the fans) in addition to being a way to measure his progress. Let’s just say I wouldn’t be surprised if that happened.
