Other presidents before him had voluntarily disclosed their tax returns and the amount of taxes paid over the years.
As already announced by the commission, the documents show above all, in the case of Trump and his wife Melania, the little taxes they paid in the years before and during his mandate (2017-2021). They have also, according to the documents, paid no federal income tax in 2020, and less than 1,000 dollars in 2016 and 2017, for example.
